25 Days off!

25 Days off!

Happy Monday y’all!

Hope everyone is having a good one! It was a nice weekend here and Dylan and I did the 10K at the “Biggest Little Half-Marathon,” on Saturday as you can see by the pic. We had our favorite cheering section out there with us, as you can again see by the pictures. London (our dog) was sooo excited to make a ton of new friends while they waited for us to cross the finish line.

Although I was disappointed that I could only run the 10K (for the record, I could have totally done the half–) it was still cool to be out there, and especially to be out there with Dylan. And even cooler to do it on chemo because– that’s what I think of cancer. I will keep it a family blog here but my words are “unkind.” Anyway, Dylan’s not really a runner, per se, but I bug him enough so that he does it with me to shut me up. Always a great parenting trick, am I right?? He really got into it as it went on. After struggling a bit early he turned the jets on for the last quarter or so. All of the sudden he was in front of me and movin! Can’t let the kid win, right?? All in all it was awesome and we were both thankful to get to do it together!

Today I took my last oral chemo for this round, which was the second round overall. I can report that I had no real issues or side-effects again, other than a little nausea and a good amount of fatigue. Super thankful for getting through it really well so far. I now have 25 days off (still don’t know how that works but..) until I have my last round. We are really ready to get to that point so we can start the process of getting some answers as to my progress. Once I am done with the third round, then we will get an MRI and the all important blood test. This test is the specialized one they send to Greece to get a count on the cancer cells floating around in my blood (CTC – circulating tumor cells). This will tell us everything we need to know and how to move forward. Can’t wait for that!! I have no doubt that the work will be worth it, and we can have an awesome summer without worry-reasonably speaking.

Alright, that’s the update for now–all good, no bad. Just the way I like it–I want to again thank you all for following along with this and really appreciate your support as well.

Have a great week and I’ll update soon!
