Back to Work…..

Hi all-

Well, it’s back to work for me today. Cancer killing work. I had an awesome week of not doing any chemo or treatments and being “normal.” Tonight, however, I will get back to work on this whole “killing cancer/healing thing.” I will start my oral chemo tonight, as we decided that was the best route to take, and finish up on Friday. It is five days on, twenty-five days off. I have no idea why or how that works, but I am doing what I am told in this instance. I will repeat that for the next three months and then……..well, I’ll be done, so to speak. After I finish, I will have a month off before taking the big blood test (think SAT) that will give me the results of all of this. There will also be an MRI around that time as well and we will get the whole picture, both cancer cells in the blood counts and imaging. No pressure, right?

I have honestly been feeling really good all week. I have run six of the ten days since ending in-office treatment, and been keeping really active around the house with the fam (and dog!) All that said, I am in wait and see mode about what I will be able to do for the next three months. I’m certainly not worried. Just curious. Like a movie ending that you wait for and when it’s over you remember the best part is the anticipation of not knowing…. except that won’t be the best part here so….whatever, you get it.

Well, anyway-I added a couple of pics from a run I did when I had my phone with me (I don’t take it normally as it is clunky and annoying but it was cold so I had to wear my “tights” with a pocket) just for the heck of it. The trail in the picture literally goes straight up–it is a beast that I haven’t conquered yet, and the pics don’t do it justice. But I’m getting there. Goals, right? Hopefully I will be able to get back out there this week too!

As always, thank you for the thoughts and prayers and as long as I am not puking my guts out tomorrow – I’ll report back!

Kidding..not kidding.

Talk soon–
