Checkin’ in!

Hey guys! Just wanted to check in after a nice weekend and give a quick update. First, the weekend. Spring was early here for us as both Saturday and Sunday were beautiful days to be outside. After getting my PICC line out on Friday I couldn’t wait to get out and get my exercise on! I was quickly reminded that the heart is a muscle just like any other…if you don’t work it (3 weeks) it gets a little stiff. My first 3km’s of my run on Saturday were a huge reminder of that. It was like the first run again, lol. After the initial “pain” I eased into and enjoyed good runs on both days. So awesome, and I am super thankful.

Today I started my supplements protocol, which I will be continuing throughout the oral chemo and rest of the treatment. I am very used to taking a large amount of supps for the last couple of years since my first go-around, so no big deal. I will only be taking the supplements this week as I have a week off of any other treatments. It is a much needed rest time for my body after all that it got hit with in the last three weeks.

Next Monday I will start the 3 month process of the oral chemo. It is a 5 days on, and 25 days off schedule. I am praying that it will treat me well like the other chemos and hopefully be incredibly effective. Time will tell. Like my guy Mark Twain said, “Worrying is like paying a debt you don’t owe.” Sound advice. So I won’t do it.

Anyway, that’s it for now–a back-to-work normal week for me, and then back at it next week.

I’ll check in again, but everyone have a great week ahead!

Talk soon!
