I am writing this today with a shattered heart. My best friend, love of my life, father to our three sons…. the BEST at all of those titles went home to be with Jesus. After nearly 4 years of fighting for his life, Brian is now home with the Lord.
We have been together most of my life…. 25 years. I am broken and unsure of how to do more than take each day one breath at a time, literally.
Brian finished this race before me and doing this life without him is something I never wanted to imagine.
But I do know this for certain:
Brian was not saved when we met, nor when we got married. But by God’s grace and mercy, Brian found Jesus and gave his life to Him nearly 13 years ago and he was never the same – in a wonderful way. He ran this race and he ran hard.
During these last few (HARD) months, Brian’s faith and relationship with Jesus only grew stronger. While we couldn’t understand the why, we have trusted HIM through it all. Brian’s prayer was for all of his loved ones, friends, family … that they will KNOW Jesus too. Eternity in heaven with Jesus is where our hope remains.
This life here is so, so short and ‘this skin is just a rental’…. Our permanent home is for ETERNITY and those new bodies are the real deal.
The boys and I can’t wait to meet up with Brian again – we know he is HEALED and truly better off than the rest of us still here. We are so thankful for Brian’s salvation and know beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is going to be there to greet us with Jesus when we are called home – or hopefully raptured…. sooner than later!
We can’t thank you enough for all of the love, prayers and support you’ve given to us so graciously over the years. It was a long road and I have a feeling, the road ahead could feel even longer.
We are leaning into Jesus, hoping and praying for the healing of our hearts as we navigate the days, weeks, and maybe years ahead. Nothing can fill Brian’s shoes in our lives, but we will hold each other up and look forward to all being together again. Heaven is not that far away.

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
