Howdy all. Happy Tuesday to you.
Day 2 of the third week and I am rolling along. Today was a double chemo day (my third one) and I went in prepared, at least as much as I could. This means no coffee, which is devastating for me and anyone having to deal with me, but I survived (and so did they). The reason for the no coffee is that you cannot get up and use the bathroom during the chemo treatment as it messes up the rhythm and flow of the drip and since coffee is a diuretic, no go. I have bigger issues, certainly, but at the time that one seems huge, lol.
Both treatments went well as my blood drop and subsequent rise back up went quickly, as always. My body reacts very fast when the insulin is introduced into the second chemo bag. I have to constantly check my blood sugar levels during this part as the drop can go as low as 32 (my lowest), and fast. This is when I start to get light-headed and dazed, and develop a case of the giggles. I already think I’m funny, but during this part I’m unstoppably funny. I’m sure. Trust me. After I’m back to “normal” then I am released back into the wild.
This being the third round of this day and treatment, the pattern has stayed the same. I get about an hour or two before the fatigue kicks in and I become pretty useless. Thankfully, no other side effects so far, so I am, as always, grateful for that.
Tomorrow is back to alternative treatments, and three days to go! Thankful and blessed.
Hope y’all have a great Wednesday!
Talk Soon!
