Day 10 (Week 2, Day 5)

Hey guys! Finished my second week and feeling great! I had my blood test come back yesterday (they always test the day before chemo to make sure that the white blood cell count isn’t too low to fight what’s coming) and all my numbers were great! Not only great, but the Doc was impressed! All of my important numbers for what I’m doing went up! My immune system is in Beast-mode right now and that is so awesome. Two-thirds of the way for this part and I am happy to report that I am feeling good. That feels good just to report that I feel good. Two years removed from my first battle with cancer, this has been a very different experience for all of us. There is, of course, a long way to go, but I will take a win when I can get one, and so far, I am winning. If there is one thing that cancer has taught me, it is to stay humble and pay attention to everyday. Nothing is promised and it can turn at anytime. I don’t even mean that as doom and gloom, I mean it as an eye-opening experience. I have learned to listen (work-in-progress lol) and appreciate in a way that I never had before. No one wishes for this, but there are blessings to be had. The Lord has given me an opportunity to fight for myself and along with that comes a lot of hidden treasure that I certainly was missing. These are the things that self-help books, movies, etc. can’t teach and only you can find. No amount of YouTube inspirational videos can make it get through, believe me. I wish I could bottle it up and share because it is truly amazing. What a gift that would be. Okay, you get it-at least what I am saying, so I’ll leave it there. Have a great weekend everyone, Doctor’s orders, and remember to be where you are, there is a lot of beauty in that. Talk soon!

P.S.-Reading over this I thought of a great quote from my guy Benjamin Franklin:

“Some people die at 25 and aren’t buried until 75”–Don’t be that guy (gal).
