Good Evening!
Hope everyone’s day went well. Day 2 of my second week started with some challenges for me. My back has been an issue, as mentioned, and it makes the morning go reallllll slowww. The inflammation from the kung-fu cancer fighting going on inside is making things enlarge and flex, which in turns makes this guy hurt. A welcome side effect, I suppose. I also woke up super crusty (crusty=foul for those who aren’t familiar with my vernacular) and irritable. I found that the daily battle with cancer is far more than just physical. It is days like these that the mental battle is much tougher and you have to be ready. During my treatment it is important to rest and heal, even if the side effects are manageable, which so far they have been. I am used to staying very busy and active, so that has been a real challenge for me. I think that today I had a little “cabin fever” going on when I woke up, and I could have handled it better. The point here is that, much like exercising, rest and recovery is just as important as action, and I need to get “better” at it. So I will.
Anyway, what was supposed to be a “chemo” day for me turned into a alternative treatment day (i.e. high-dose vitamin C, oxidization, hydrogen peroxide drip) because of the weather. The meds weren’t delivered because the passes have been closed from the storms over the last couple of days. Tahoe got sooo much snow! As for my treatment schedule, today was tomorrow and tomorrow is yesterday. Exactly.. I’ll have my “chemo” treatments on Wednesday and Friday this week. So that’s it. I’ll now get back to resting and recovering and get ready, again, for the chemos tomorrow. Oh, and I’ll try and wake up less “crusty.”
Thanks for the listen-talk soon.
