The Stage IV Life

Hey everybody-sorry for my absence-cancer wins some days, and yesterday was one of them. What’s that old saying? It wins the battle but I win the war? Whatever. Today I win, lol. Chalk one up for me, and thank you all for the prayers and thoughts-totally helped! I woke up today feeling sooo much better and ready to go!

I finished my first week today at the cancer center and I have to say it has been better than expected. Other than my setback yesterday I think that it has gone well. Today I did more alternative treatments, mostly aimed at building my immunity. These are my favorite treatments because you literally feel better the rest of the day after having them. Highly recommended! Anyway, a couple of IV drips and a bandage change for my PICC line and I was on my way!

I was thankful that I was feeling well enough to go to the movies to cap off my treatment week with 2 of my boys tonight to see Dune Part 2 (also highly recommend) on a snowy night here in Northern Nevada. It was awesome! And equally awesome to get to spend time with those guys too. I have to admit that looking at the popcorn machine while they were getting ICEE’s was super tempting, but I stayed the course. Thinking about the stomach ache that goes along with movie popcorn helped put that temptation to rest. Alright, that’s all I’ve got for today! Have a great night!
